Job Description
Title: Meal Site Manager for the Augusta Senior and Community CenterHours: Part-time position with regular hours of Monday–Friday, 10:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. Must be available to work occasional additional hours for special events and center activities.
Hourly Wage: $13.25
POSITION SUMMARY: The Meal Site Worker performs daily meal service duties at congregate meal sites for older adults to assist with facilitating the nutrition program for the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC).
QUALIFICATIONS:
● Applies knowledge of restaurant code sanitation standards to ensure the safe and efficient operations of the assigned daily congregate meal site; assists in full meal service operations to include setup, service, clean up, meal ordering, and follows sanitation and safe food handling policies and procedures; orders and picks up food and supplies from ADRC.
● Exercises ability to understand and follow written instructions to assure adherence to program policies and procedures and menu compliance.
● Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, volunteers, meal site participants, and the public , using a trauma informed model of service; informs participants and others about services provided by the ADRC and other community agencies; reports perceived changes in participant appearance, behavior, or other problem areas to Senior Center Director.
● Utilizes knowledge of safeguarding measures to ensure secure handling and confidentiality of donations; communicates donation policies to participants; ensures the safeguarding and pick-up of donations from meal sites.
● Practices personal safety knowledge to perform basic first aid and notify emergency services. Uses skills in preparing and maintaining basic records and reports to assist the ADRC with routine record keeping including participant registration and meal reservations.
● Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
-High school diploma or equivalent.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
-Appointment will be conditional upon successful completion of criminal and caregiver background checks.
-ServSafe certification or ability to obtain certification within three (3) months of hire and maintain thereafter during employment.
